What Is A Fresnel Lens?
The Fresnel Lens (Pronounced Freh-Nel) lens is a special kind of lens, developed by French Physicist Augustin-Jean Fresnel in the 19th Century. Fresnel lenses consist of a succession of concentric rings etched into glass or plastic. These rings use a combination of total internal reflection and refraction, to focus the light, allowing it to travel over greater distances. Though the Fresnel lens was originally designed for use in lighthouses, they have become a popular tool in the Film, Theatre, and Photography industries. Especially if you need your lighting to travel over large distances.
Godox GF14 Fresnel Lens Adds More Intensity To Your Lighting
Due to the nature of Fresnel lenses, the GODOX GF14 Fresnel Lens amplifies the light output from the LED light source that it is mounted to by up to 19 times. This is great for times when you need the light from your COB LED Studio Light source to travel over a greater distance. Great for Film and theatrical productions.
Variable Beam Angle - Godox GF14 Large Fresnel Lens
The spread of the beam put out by the GF14 Fresnel Lens can be adjusted anywhere between 10° and 35°, giving you the ability, to either create a small, controlled pool of light, to a flood of light in your scene.
Solid Construction - Godox GF14 Fresnel Lens
The Godox GF14 Fresnel lens has been put together with durability and robustness in mind. Made from high-quality materials, the GF14 has been designed to ensure that any light leaks are kept to a minimum and are rugged enough to endure professional use.
Intelligent GODOX G-Mount Fitting
The GF14 reflector uses the new Godox G-Mount, which provides a larger, and more durable connection compared to the standard Bowens S-Type mount. It also features electronic contacts, which lets the light what modifier is being connected to it. This enables the light to intelligently compensate for any slight colour shifts caused by the modifier, for consistent lighting no matter what modifier is being used.
It is a necessary tool for anyone that requires a focusable beam, with extra light intensity, or for their light to travel over greater distances. Perfect for cinematographers, independent filmmakers, or theatrical productions. It can also be used for still photography, especially for photographers working in commercials, advertising, and fashion photography.
